This informative and timely session will be comprised of a panel of elevator industry experts from various backgrounds who will be discussing the current elevator industry challenges as well as changes expected over the next five years from a technology, customer experience, safety and human capital development perspective.

A 35 year industry professional engineer who has an in depth technical and operational knowledge of the service, modernization and new installation elevator and escalator industry. Currently oversees the day to day operation of seven engineering consulting offices located in every major city in Canada.

Pam has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Education and has just received her Executive MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. As a requirement of the MBA, Pam did a management consulting project for CECA. Her project was to provide recommendations to address the insufficient highly skilled and qualified elevating device mechanics identified in the TSSA Elevator Availability Report.

​

Rob Kremer has worked in the elevator industry for 29 years and is the Engineering Manager for the Elevating and Amusement Devices Safety program at TSSA where has worked for the past 18 years. He is professional engineer, holds a degree from McMaster University and is a QEI certified elevator inspector. Rob is a member of A17.1/B44 Safety Code for Elevators and member of Mechanical Design, Maintenance Repair and Replacement, Existing Installations and Standards committee, and has developed code requirements for machine-room-less elevators and Category 5 Alternative Testing Methods.

Phil has worked in the elevator industry for 36 years. He is a principle of Quality Allied Elevator, Toronto’s largest independent elevator company, specializing in elevator maintenance and modernizations. Phil is also Central Region Chair  and a member of Board of Directors for the Canadian Elevator Contractors Association, sits on various elevator industry committees including Ontario College of Trades, Training and Certification Advisory Board, Program Advisory Committee for Durham College.
